A Bonterra Apricot Case Study
United Way of Metropolitan Chicago (UWMC) was shifting from a traditional community-funding role to an impact-investing, outcomes-driven strategy across its focus areas (education, income, health, safety net). To make real-time, data-informed funding and program decisions—and to streamline applications and reporting for partner agencies during fiscal uncertainty—UWMC needed a centralized, customizable grant-management system.
UWMC implemented Apricot For Funders to centralize applications, partner agreements, outcome and financial reporting, and application scoring. The system gave staff and agencies immediate access to standardized data and reports, improved visibility into partner performance, enabled more informed funding and capacity-building decisions, and simplified outcome collection; UWMC is now expanding the platform to support place-based collective impact work and its multi-year goals.
