A Bonterra Apricot Case Study
Self Enhancement, Inc. (SEI) is a nationally recognized Portland nonprofit serving about 7,500 primarily African-American youth and families with a long-term continuum of in-school, afterschool, summer, family and post-secondary programs; SEI reports a 98% graduation rate versus the district’s 63%. As the organization expanded, its paper-based and fragmented funder systems could not support consistent outcome tracking, data-driven decision making, or scalable performance management.
SEI implemented Social Solutions’ Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) to create a single platform for client records, program metrics, school ABC data, assessments and individual support plans. ETO enabled near-real-time attendance tracking (boosting summer participation), standardized data collection and easier monitoring of data quality, helped SEI demonstrate impact to funders, and supported successful collaborative grant efforts and consortium data-sharing initiatives.
