A Bonterra Apricot Case Study
Family Compass is a Dallas County nonprofit that provides classes, referrals, support groups and in‑home mentoring to 784 families through eight programs, staffed by 28 employees, with the goal of preventing child abuse. The organization struggled with siloed, program‑specific databases that made standardized intake, cross‑program reporting and funder reporting time‑consuming and unreliable, so they partnered with Social Solutions in 2009 to consolidate their data.
Family Compass centralized case management with Social Solutions’ ETO and later migrated to Apricot Core, gaining a cloud‑based, standardized database with scalable reporting, automatic graphs and remote connectivity for mobile staff. As a result they improved program visibility, secured and retained diverse funding (United Way, VOCA, Reese Jones Foundation), can pull custom reports on demand, and report a 90% decrease in risk of child abuse thanks to better tracking and evidence‑based decision making.
