A Bonterra Apricot Case Study
Area Resources for Community and Human Services (ARCHS) is a St. Louis–based funder that distributes federal, state, corporate, and private dollars to local social service and education nonprofits as part of a community partnership model. As ARCHS expanded to 30 programs, 360 locations, and 200 service partners, its data became fragmented and siloed, making it difficult to aggregate results, demonstrate collective impact, or allocate funds based on clear evidence.
In 2015 ARCHS implemented Apricot by Social Solutions to centralize program and internal data, capturing more than 3,000 data elements, creating program dashboards, and standardizing enrollment and attendance tracking across sites. Coupled with staff training, the system made data accessible at all levels, improved confidence in outcomes reporting, enabled ROI calculations (after distributing more than $8M in 2016), and helped ARCHS better show and scale its positive impact on roughly 100,000 children and families annually.
