The University of Queensland needed to modernise student services while relying on core Student Management, HR, Finance and Learning Management systems that were 15–20 years old. To meet digitally savvy students’ high expectations and support multiple channels and profiles, UQ partnered with Bonitasoft, using the Bonita platform for business process automation to digitise and streamline its student-facing and back-office processes.

Bonitasoft implemented automated workflows and integrations that digitised 40+ business processes in 12 months, enabling students to submit and track requests via web and mobile and reducing manual processing for staff. The Bonitasoft solution delivered measurable benefits: a 94% improvement in turnaround time for higher degree research requests, an estimated saving of 12,000 staff hours per year (about 7 FTE, a 67% efficiency gain), improved data accuracy and timeliness, reduced integration effort and less paper.
