Learning Health, a healthcare innovator focused on improving clinical outcomes in settings like skilled nursing facilities, faced inconsistent and costly patient outcomes due to variability in implementing medical best practices and limited access to the right data at each care step. To address a pilot need for faster, appropriate care for elderly patients who cannot communicate condition changes, Learning Health partnered with Bonitasoft and used Bonita BPM to build executable, standards-based processes.

Using Bonita BPM, Bonitasoft helped Learning Health create core BPM processes aligned with accepted clinical protocols (e.g., INTERACT and TOKEN) and an interoperable FHIR-based data model that pulls distributed data into decision workflows. The result was a quickly developed proof-of-concept, faster notification of the right clinician with the right information, and customizable processes ready for local adoption—improving care coordination and paving the way for wider, measurable reductions in response times and inconsistent outcomes.
