A Bonitasoft Case Study
VIS Insurance Ltd., one of Iceland’s leading non-life insurers, faced fragmented, manual claims handling—relying on Excel, email and isolated systems—which caused delays, missed records and poor internal collaboration. To create an integrated, customer-centric interface and standardize follow-up, VIS selected Bonitasoft and its Bonita BPM platform (Bonita Studio and Bonita Portal) for workflow-driven case management and a collaborative claims portal.
Bonitasoft implemented Bonita to automate claims requests, notifications and task assignments, and to integrate with existing systems (ERP, Alfresco, Apache Solr) so staff can view complete customer lifecycles in a single form. As a result, VIS automated more than 45 processes, managed 819 cases in the first three weeks, gained clear performance monitoring and transparency, and improved customer communication through automated emails and faster, more reliable case handling.
