Bonita for e-citizen process-based applications

PROCERgs (PROCERGS) is the state IT and data-processing company for Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, with more than 1,000 employees that process millions of vital transactions daily across ~640 systems. Facing high maintenance and support costs with Documentum, PROCERGS acquired the Bonita Enterprise platform from Bonitasoft to power e‑citizen, process‑based applications and replace its legacy BPM/ECM limitations.

Bonitasoft implemented Bonita to automate end‑to‑end workflows (permits, awards, vacation requests, etc.), integrate with Alfresco Content Services, the SOE authentication base and the PROA administrative system, and expose APIs for legacy-system integration. The solution—sized for 50,000 users and today serving ~25,000—now supports some 30 Bonita-based systems, formalizes and standardizes processes, enables process versioning and validations, and delivers unified task lists and metrics; PROCERGS reports improved developer productivity and lower maintenance overhead as measurable outcomes of the Bonitasoft deployment.
