A Customized and Scalable Solution for Identity Management at Universities

Aegis Identity Software, Inc., a provider of identity-management solutions for large organizations, needed a scalable, customizable system to serve universities with more than 40,000 students. Challenges included multistage workflows, continuous student email access, and balancing compliance and privacy across a complex mix of students, administrators, alumni, faculty and contractors in hybrid physical, virtual and cloud environments. Aegis partnered with Bonitasoft, using its Bonita-backed TridentHE™ solution to build the required identity-management platform.

Bonitasoft’s platform allowed Aegis to rapidly deploy TridentHE™ at two major U.S. universities, automating three core processes (account claim/initial password reset, lost-password reset, and delegated administration workflows). The solution delivered measurable impact: one generic workflow now covers about 90% of education-market tasks (with Bonita enabling customization for the remaining 10%), reduced reliance on professional services, and streamlined cost-effective automation of password and identity-management functions.
