Zoom fortifies their online security for their global user base

Zoom, the leading video-first unified communications provider, faced a rapid surge in phishing, malware and tech-support scams as usage exploded during the COVID-19 crisis. To protect its global user base, Zoom engaged Bolster AI and deployed Bolster AI’s Online Customer Protection and Detection Engine to rapidly detect impersonation, credential abuse, account takeover, phishing and malware threats.

Bolster AI’s platform was brought online immediately; within the first 24 hours the Detection Engine identified and took down 1,476 sites with a 99.3% takedown rate. In the first month Bolster AI flagged and monitored 14,012 suspicious sites and removed 3,166 fraudulent sites with a 97% success rate, while adding malware binaries to VirusTotal to prevent reuse—freeing Zoom teams from manual takedowns and materially improving protection and trust for Zoom’s users.
