Aiding South West Fire And Rescue Achieve Their Information Security Goals

South West Fire And Rescue, a collaboration of five fire services in England, needed to implement a strict protective marking system to comply with UK government security frameworks and securely handle sensitive personal data. Their challenge was to force staff to classify all documents and tightly control information access. They selected a software solution from vendor Boldon James.

Boldon James implemented its Classifier suite, which integrated with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and other systems to mandate protective markings and prevent data loss. This solution enabled South West Fire And Rescue to achieve PSN accreditation, improve information security, and securely share data with partners. The successful project was recognized by winning the SC Magazine European Information Security Project of the Year Award 2013.
