Syngenta Group, a leading global agribusiness with over $13B in annual sales and a large Italian operation, faced a major reporting and planning challenge when it integrated its Crop and Seeds sales forces. The company needed a rapid, precise way to homogenize and combine SAP data with field-collected sales forecasts, support both detailed short‑term and higher‑level long‑range planning, and enable collaborative decision-making across sales, finance and supply chain — all under tight time constraints ahead of peak season.

Syngenta implemented BOARD as a single, consolidated planning and reporting platform (Cost & Planning and Sales & Operation Planning), using role-based dashboards and web access for field agents. BOARD enabled integrated data entry, monthly and multi-month forecasting, forecast‑accuracy monitoring and customer credit scoring, while giving users self‑service reporting and reducing IT dependency. The result was faster, clearer on-the-spot decisions, improved supply‑chain and profitability optimization, unambiguous shared data and plans, and a rollout pathway to extend the approach to the Seeds division.
