A Board Case Study
Marelli, created by the 2019 combination of Calsonic Kansei and Magneti Marelli, is a global automotive supplier headquartered in Italy with ~€8.2B revenue (2017), 44,000+ employees and operations across 20 countries. The company needed to plan and control worldwide IT costs across a complex matrix of multiple companies, currencies and approval levels; its previous Excel- and proprietary-based forecasting tools lacked flexibility, security and analytical depth and required frequent external development support.
Marelli implemented the Board platform to centralize IT budgeting and forecasting across 10 business lines, 77 plants and 48 countries, integrating SAP and local inputs into a single multicurrency model with 3,000+ budget lines and hierarchical approvals. The solution enabled in-house, multidimensional analysis and self-service reporting, centralized a €60M ICT budget, cut data‑collation time and costs, improved transparency and supplier rationalization, and removed dependency on external software houses.
