RTL Netherlands, part of the RTL Group and owner of TV channels and digital brands like RTL Nieuws and Videoland, faced fragmented, manual finance processes across many legal entities and business units. Reporting relied on massive Excel workbooks (about 160 sheets) and slow, error-prone consolidation steps that took 15–30 minutes or more, with inconsistent P&L layouts and cumbersome, manual forecasting making fast, accurate decision-making difficult.

Partnering with Axians, RTL implemented the Board Decision-Making Platform to create a single source of truth with daily SAP uploads, standardized reports, user workflows and role-based access. The change eliminated Excel-based reporting, enabled instant drill-downs and one-click variance and reforecasting, and produced near real-time consolidation and forecasting—including weekly forecasts during COVID—resulting in faster, more accurate insights and the ability to add HR and other operational data for driver-based forecasts.
