KUKA, a global leader in industrial robots and automation with ~€3.2bn revenue and 14,000 employees, needed to replace fragmented, spreadsheet-based planning with a company-wide rolling monthly S&OP process. The goal was to decentralize future planning while creating end-to-end visibility from strategic planning through sales, production and finance, with workflows and approval hierarchies to better control growth.

KUKA implemented the Board decision‑making platform to unify BI, planning and analytics into a single, standardized database and workflow-driven S&OP process. The solution produced a validated demand and master plan linked to production resources, automated reporting and approvals, and a dramatic increase in transparency, collaboration and planning accuracy—reducing Controlling’s workload and rolling out across 30 sales companies worldwide.
