EDEKA Northern Bavaria-Saxony-Thuringia, part of the EDEKA network, faced growing planning and data-volume challenges as its legacy and Excel-based systems could no longer support smooth wholesale, logistics, and retail planning for around 900 stores. The company turned to Board and the Board Intelligent Planning Platform to move toward integrated business and retail planning with stronger reporting, analysis, and forecasting.

Board implemented an on-premise, phased solution covering P&L planning, wholesale planning, reporting, logistics, and geomapping, with Board’s Professional Services supporting a coaching-style rollout. The results included a dramatic reduction in monthly P&L data loading time from 90–120 minutes to just a few minutes, faster month-end closing, a rolling forecast always kept current, and better visibility across stores and regions.
