A Board Case Study
Boiron Italia, the Italian subsidiary of the global homeopathic pharmaceutical group Boiron, faced a complex planning challenge: a broad product portfolio (≈2,500 SKUs), diverse customer base and tightly connected production/distribution processes required fast, accurate forecasts and consolidated reporting. Legacy tools forced departments to work in separate applications and Excel, creating manual re-entry, inconsistent data, slow forecasting (only 2–3 forecasts/year instead of monthly) and long close cycles that hindered timely decision-making.
Working with Board and partner SDG, Boiron implemented an Integrated Business Planning platform tied to a certified Data Warehouse and its ERP/CRM, creating a single shared environment with automated workflows, driver-based allocations, drill-down analytics and role-specific panels for cost-centre managers. The result: a “single version of the truth,” faster, more flexible planning and reporting (full monthly forecasts closed within days and a complete monthly cycle by day eight), improved data quality and accountability, continued business continuity during COVID, and positive audit feedback.
