Efficient Reporting, Analysis, and Planning at Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg

Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg (FBB), operator of the new Berlin Brandenburg (BER) airport and the third-largest airport in Germany, faced fragmented reporting from disparate BI tools and heavy reliance on SAP BW plus manual Excel workarounds. The finance and controlling teams needed a high-performance, user-friendly solution that preserved SAP BW as the source of truth, supported pixel-perfect print reports, workflow-driven processes, point-of-view commentary, and enabled power users to create self-service analyses without programming.

FBB’s BI Competence Center selected Board after multiple POCs and implemented it on time and on budget, using Theobald connectors to pull SAP BW data and integrating other sources as needed. The Board platform consolidated group reporting, added drill-through to SAP, built-in commenting and workflows, and eliminated error-prone Excel merges; adoption was rapid, data quality and efficiency improved, and FBB is now expanding dashboards and planning capabilities as a foundation for an integrated self-service MIS and future Integrated Business Planning.
