Case Study: Champion Europe achieves integrated merchandise and assortment planning with BOARD

A Board Case Study

Champion Europe and Board a new approach to Merchandise and Assortment Planning

Champion Europe, a leading mono-brand retailer of sports apparel with around 1,000 employees and 150 stores, faced a fragmented and error-prone planning process after unifying its store systems in 2011. Buyers and area managers relied on multiple misaligned Excel files for assortments, stock, pricing and promotions, which made multi-dimensional analysis slow, rigid and risky—especially problematic in the fast-moving fashion sector.

Champion selected BOARD for its flexibility and implemented an integrated planning cycle covering retail merchandising, assortments and supplier purchase orders, fed automatically from the Stealth 3000 ERP. The new solution supports forecasting (including “blind” orders), simplified simulations and rapid revisions, fully integrates wholesale and retail processes, cuts planning time, reduces errors and delivered payback in under one year.
