Carglass, part of the Belron Group in Italy and a global leader in automotive glass repair and replacement with over 250 service centres and some 400,000 Italian customers a year, needed a Business Intelligence platform to analyze sales for its subsidiary Origlass and to modernize budgeting processes that had relied on disparate Excel spreadsheets. The company wanted more than a pure reporting tool—capabilities for data reprocessing, calculations, simulation, data entry and easy report creation were required so users could analyze and plan more effectively.

After evaluating options, Carglass chose Board and implemented it (with support from NPO Business Solutions) in a three‑month project to deliver sales reporting—shipment values, turnover, cost of sales and margin—and then extended the platform to shared sales budgeting for both Carglass and Origlass. The solution delivered fast adoption, greater end‑user autonomy to modify reports, automated, more detailed budgets (using Board’s allocation functions) and a move away from error-prone Excel processes, with plans to roll the tool out to logistics and warehouse operations.
