Baldini Vernici, an Italian paint manufacturer (part of the Lafarge Group), needed better insight into sales, promotions and channel profitability as it grew in a fragmented market with shrinking margins. Management wanted a tool to evaluate sales performance, compare distribution channels, simulate promotional outcomes and speed up budgeting and forecasting so decisions could be made more proactively.
The company implemented BOARD’s Management Intelligence suite—combining EIS, DSS and OLAP—integrated with its AS/400 systems and existing ACG and SAM applications. BOARD enabled self-service analysis, web publishing and Excel reporting, created a new Analysis Manager role, reduced reliance on IT for reports, accelerated spot analyses and budgeting, and delivered faster, more flexible sales, simulation and financial reporting.
