HanseMerkur Versicherungsgruppe is a Hamburg‑based insurer with about 1,951 employees and strong financials (2014 premium income €1,580.7m). The company faced inefficient, error‑prone planning, forecasting and reporting processes built from about 120 disparate Excel sheets and FoxPro reports, and needed a programming‑free, flexible solution that the in‑house team could maintain to improve quality and user acceptance.

HanseMerkur implemented Aios Planner, an application built on BOARD, as a client‑server solution integrating data from SAP, PAISY, Excel and Access, with predefined input masks, scenario planning, top‑down/bottom‑up logic, distribution algorithms and dashboard graphics. The rollout cut data preparation time from two weeks to one, eliminated the 120 Excel lists and custom FoxPro reports, enabled self‑service scenario and report creation, and delivered deeper, faster time‑series analysis and drill‑down insight.
