A Board Case Study

Preview of the Sella Group Case Study

Analytics & Planning as a Platform at Sella Group Creating a data-driven organization and empowering the entire workforce with a self-service approach to information across 20 subsidiaries

Sella Group is a private Italian banking and fintech holding with 20 companies across five business lines (payments, retail and private banking, IT, investment banking and open banking). After the 2008–2012 crisis the Group’s planning & control team faced a surge in real‑time reporting and analysis requests and needed to redesign processes, build a multidisciplinary center of excellence, and select a single platform to deliver fast, integrated insights to the whole organization.

The Group implemented Board as an “Analytics & Planning as a Platform” solution—a two‑layer model with a consolidated Board database and company‑specific applications—plus a Reporting Portal, Google Analytics connector and self‑service dashboarding for sales (2,000+ users) and 600+ managers. The result was consolidated planning and BI, real‑time decision making, automated EBA sustainability analyses, a shift from report producers to business partners, and measurable impact (performing customers rose from 0.5% to 3%, ~2,000 daily users, ~800k logins/year and 1,000+ Board screens with twice‑daily updates).
