Sogegross is a major Italian retail group (2017 turnover €872M) operating multiple brands, channels and five distribution centres handling tens of thousands of tonnes of fresh products and millions of packaged goods. The company’s initial implementation of the Board BI platform was underperforming: the tool was not being used consistently, data management was fragmented, and reporting and analytics failed to meet business needs across logistics, sales and procurement.

Sogegross created a cross‑functional Board Team (a BICC), redesigned its data architecture (AS/400 staging → SQL Server data warehouse via SSIS → Board for presentation), and optimized hardware and HBMP settings to enable self‑service BI and scalable reporting. The result was dramatic: monthly reports that once took two working days now run in four seconds, weekly sales reporting fell from four hours to one click, report development costs dropped ~30–35%, email/storage overhead plummeted, and Board now supports broad operational forecasting, inventory reconciliation and decision‑making across the business.
