Nampak Plastics Europe, a subsidiary of Nampak Limited, is the UK market leader in HDPE packaging for the food and drink sector, operating nine sites and producing over 2 billion bottles a year. Facing an obsolete BI tool and heavy reliance on spreadsheets and IT support, the business needed a reliable, flexible self-service solution that could handle complex production constraints and improve operational and financial reporting.

They implemented the Board decision-making platform to build a finite production planning application that pulls ERP sales and logistics data and models constraints such as machine numbers, locations and mould types. The new tool enables fast scenario analysis, more accurate production allocation, clearer cost-driver visibility and the ability to take on more orders; it has noticeably improved planning efficiency and will be extended for operational reporting, sales analytics and capacity planning.
