Chardon Local Schools gains greater community transparency and trust with leading board management solution

Chardon Local Schools, an Ohio district serving 3,000 students across a 90-square-mile area, needed to increase community transparency and eliminate time-consuming, paper-heavy board processes. Superintendent Dr. Michael Hanlon, Jr., implemented BoardDocs’ OSBA BoardDocs LT to replace binder-driven workflows and make meeting materials and policies accessible online.

BoardDocs deployed OSBA BoardDocs LT on the district website so agendas (released the Friday before meetings), motions, votes, attachments and a searchable policy bank are available to the public and board members. The change eliminated producing 40 copies of board binders, reduced the district policy handbook to one hard copy with all policies hosted online, allowed board members to work remotely on Chromebooks, removed agenda-prep meetings, and materially increased community transparency and trust.
