California community college adopts a more efficient way of doing business

West Hills Community College’s seven-member governing board faced slow, paper-heavy meeting processes: agendas took weeks to compile, printing and shipping packets was costly and time-consuming, and staff were stressed. The college adopted BoardDocs Pro in 2013 (upgrading to BoardDocs Pro Plus in 2016) after a recommendation from the Community College League of California to streamline governance and get agendas into board members’ hands more quickly.

BoardDocs implemented an online board-management solution with configurable workflows, approval processes, a Meeting Control Panel, annotation tools, and separate confidential meeting and administrative controls. The result was immediate cost and time savings—paper packets were eliminated after a hybrid rollout, agenda edits and approvals moved faster, and staff and board members reported greater efficiency and enthusiasm; all committees now use BoardDocs Pro Plus.
