Veterans Breakfast Club Expands Reach with Boardable

Veterans Breakfast Club, a nonprofit founded by Todd DePastino to preserve and share veterans’ stories, grew to more than 7,500 attendees across 39 locations but faced new challenges when COVID-19 stopped in-person events and exposed limitations in board composition and coordination. In mid-2021 the organization sought a way to continue virtual programming and expand the board beyond local volunteers, and introduced the vendor Boardable to address those needs.

Boardable’s board-management platform was implemented to host meetings, share reports, agendas and media, and streamline executive work. As a result of using Boardable, Veterans Breakfast Club recruited talented board volunteers from across the U.S., expanded the reach and profile of its board, and centralized meeting and document workflows — a critical step toward the nonprofit’s national growth and mission expansion.
