A Boardable Case Study
West Cecil Health Center, a community health provider on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, faced a major challenge when COVID-19 forced meetings online: preparing and distributing board packets took Devon Ragan hours each cycle, with printed packets, mailing, and version control problems—early attempts to use Adobe proved cumbersome and inconsistent. To address this, the organization adopted Boardable, a board portal platform, to move documents and meeting workflow into a single digital system.
Using Boardable, West Cecil Health Center purchased a subscription, created official email accounts and iPads for board members, and ran hands-on onboarding sessions (including a practice meeting) so everyone could log in and use the tools. The Boardable implementation eliminated Ragan’s marathon packet-prep sessions, streamlined agenda and document reuse, enabled immediate publishing of meeting minutes, and resulted in reduced time to prepare board meetings and increased board engagement.
