A Board Intelligence Case Study
Channel 4 engaged Board Intelligence to develop an integrated reporting model and future‑proof board pack that would allow the board to assess whether the company was meeting its statutory remit while also tracking performance across creative, strategic, operational and financial areas. The challenge required a bespoke approach because Channel 4’s public interest duties are unique and needed to be integrated with the management information the board already expected.
Board Intelligence analysed the relevant legislation and Ofcom guidance, worked with the board and management to define new remit‑focused metrics, and built a dashboard plus a bespoke “Creative Report” and reporting templates, alongside training for report writers. The result was a fully integrated board pack covering public duties and performance, higher‑quality data and more relevant metrics that improved decision‑making; the clearer, more consistent packs created more discussion time in meetings and freed up management time.
