U.S. Logistics Company - Customer Case Study

U.S. Logistics Company, a logistics provider serving the energy sector, needed a way to efficiently load and secure pipe of varying sizes, coatings, weights, and lengths onto rail cars at a non-standard loading location while meeting railroad rules. BNSF Logistics was brought in to help address the loading, securement, and weather-related timing challenges tied to the customer’s pipe transport needs.

BNSF Logistics engineered AAR Open Top Loading Rules-compliant load layouts, created color-coded loading drawings and checklists, and coordinated closely with BNSF Railway and field crews to ensure safe, efficient railcar loading and securement. The result was an increase from 6 cars to 10 cars per week, zero load shifts or pipe damage across 850 loaded car shipments, and a new revenue opportunity supported by stronger customer and railroad relationships.
