A BNSF Logistics Case Study
Leading International Engineering Company, a leading international engineering company that provides mill systems for mining projects, needed a logistics partner to deliver and set up two mill systems for a gold mine in Northern Ontario, Canada. The project involved approximately 32,000 freight tons of equipment sourced from North America and around the world, including more than 18,000 freight tons from Europe, making individual transport extremely costly.
BNSF Logistics developed a consolidated shipping solution by coordinating with manufacturers, suppliers, port operators, and agents across Europe to move the freight onto two vessels for delivery to one port in Canada. BNSF Logistics completed the project on time and without recorded damages, moved approximately 32,000 freight tons successfully, and delivered the project $1,000,000 under budget.
