Global Product and Service Provider, a long-standing railway and transit industry company, needed unique ergonomic and safety modifications for rail equipment used to transport and deploy Continuous Welded Rail (CWR). BNSF Logistics was brought in to design a first-of-its-kind 28-railcar train set with features such as a full-length catwalk, crew work cabin, protection cabin, man lift, and lighting, all under tight deadlines before cold weather impacted testing.

BNSF Logistics developed a production-ready design that met all requested modifications and exceeded industry standards for safety and ergonomics. The solution was implemented by the customer and is still in operation today, helping increase crew safety and productivity while also reducing fabrication costs for Global Product and Service Provider.
