VMCH, which provides early learning, disability, aged care and retirement services across Victoria, needed a managed print solution with strong fax integration as Telstra ISDN services were being disconnected under the NBN rollout. The organisation had to keep sending and receiving large volumes of secure healthcare faxes without relying on phone lines attached to each MFD.

BNS Group Australia, working with Ricoh Australia and Comvergence, implemented a secure fax server solution integrated with Ricoh’s fax application and MFD fleet. The system sent fax images securely to on-premises email servers or Office 365 over TLS, with no fax images stored outside VMCH’s network, while Comvergence handled the SIP-to-PSTN voice call. VMCH decommissioned over 50 analog Telstra lines, maintained privacy of health data, and significantly reduced total cost of ownership.
