A B&M Waste Case Study
University College Birmingham, a campus-based university in central Birmingham with 7,500 students, needed a better way to manage its waste. The university had concerns about poor understanding and communication around how its waste was being handled, and wanted a more structured, sustainable approach. It turned to B&M Waste for total waste management support.
B&M Waste audited the campus and implemented colour-coded segregated bins for general waste, paper and card, and plastic bottles across multiple sites. The new system was designed to divert waste from landfill, improve recycling, and lower costs, helping University College Birmingham move closer to its eco-campus goals. While no exact figures were given, the partnership was expected to significantly improve sustainability outcomes.
