Mill Gate Shopping Centre in Bury needed a flexible waste management partner to service its seven separate waste yards across a 440,000 sq ft site with high footfall and significant waste volumes. B&M Waste was brought in to provide recycling containers, improve segregation, and handle collections across the site while working safely around different access requirements and limited space.

B&M Waste carried out a site audit, introduced general waste and card containers plus a cardboard baler in the main yard, and delivered collections three times a week alongside staff training and on-site signage to improve recycling. The change delivered an immediate cost saving versus the previous service and helped Mill Gate increase diversion from landfill from 87% in 2014 to 95% in 2015, with all collected waste either recycled or processed through B&M Waste’s RDF facility to generate green energy.
