Markem-Imaje is a labelling manufacturer that produces identification and traceability solutions across a range of systems, including inkjet, thermal transfer, laser and print. As a producer of hazardous waste, the company needed a safe and compliant way to dispose of materials and manage multiple waste streams in line with current regulations. B&M Waste Services supported Markem-Imaje with regular waste and hazardous waste collections.

B&M Waste first carried out a site audit to review waste streams and identify opportunities to improve segregation and recycling. The vendor then introduced dedicated bins for different metals, including stainless steel and aluminium, and arranged separate recycling for empty aerosols, ex-solvent containers and WEEE waste. With monthly collections and better segregation in place, B&M Waste helped Markem-Imaje improve recycling levels and remain compliant, reducing the risk of costly fines.
