Magenta Living, the largest provider of social housing in the Wirral, wanted to strengthen its approach to sustainable waste management and encourage its 500 staff to recycle more effectively. To support this goal, it worked with B&M Waste Services on an improved waste and recycling initiative for its head office in Birkenhead.

B&M Waste Services helped Magenta Living deliver a staff education campaign using intranet and posters, alongside a partnership approach to manage waste more sustainably. As a result, onsite recycling rose from 10% to 30% in a year, nearly 9,200 kg of carbon was saved, and 100% of head office waste was diverted from landfill, achieving zero-to-landfill in 2017.
