Huyton Hey Manor, a privately owned care home in Knowsley, needed a cleaner and safer waste management process for its 27-adult residential facility. B&M Waste Services carried out an internal audit to understand the home’s waste volumes and recycling patterns, identifying food waste as the main stream requiring better handling.

B&M Waste Services introduced a food waste bin and a general waste bin, with food waste sent for anaerobic digestion and general waste diverted to a Refuse Derived Fuel facility instead of landfill. Huyton Hey Manor now receives bespoke environmental reports to track performance and is achieving a recycling rate of 86.47%, thanks to improved bin provision and waste segregation.
