A B&M Waste Case Study
Hugh Baird College in Bootle, Liverpool delivers more than 300 courses to over 5,000 students, creating a significant volume of commercial waste that needed better segregation and recycling. B&M Waste worked with the college to review its existing waste handling and improve how different waste streams were separated across the site.
B&M Waste introduced new bins for dry mixed recycling, glass, food, and general waste, alongside staff and pupil training, over-bin posters, and guidance on proper segregation. The college’s general waste is now sent to an RDF facility rather than landfill, and B&M Waste’s reporting shows exactly where each waste stream goes; as a result, Hugh Baird College has achieved a 95.12% recycling rate.
