Grand Central Stockport, a retail, entertainment and leisure complex in Greater Manchester owned by Stockport Council and managed by CBRE, needed a waste services provider to replace its landfill-only approach. B&M Waste was brought in to support the site’s facilities management and introduce a more sustainable waste and recycling service.

B&M Waste carried out a site audit and implemented general waste and cardboard bins, along with internal recycling bins for paper, plastic bottles and drinks cans, later adding separate glass and food recycling. B&M Waste also provided regular collections, environmental reporting, and tenant guidance materials, helping Grand Central Stockport increase recycling from none to 85.7% in 2013 and then to 100% in 2014, while saving 42,796kg of carbon.
