A B&M Waste Case Study
BKW Instruments, a Manchester-based instrumentation company focused on partnerships, manufacturing, and service, wanted to reduce its environmental impact while maintaining efficiency. However, its existing waste management provider was causing service and reliability issues and lacked green initiatives, prompting BKW to look for a better solution. B&M Waste, a local supplier, was brought in to support a more reliable and sustainable waste management strategy.
B&M Waste implemented a new waste approach that replaced the existing FEL with segregated 1100L bins, supported by baling, recycling, and refuse-derived fuel (RDF) processing. As a result, BKW now diverts 100% of its cardboard and general waste from landfill, with 5,654 kg of waste collected, 3,209 kg of carbon saved, 1,597 car miles avoided, and the equivalent of 2 trees saved.
