Automating the creation of complex customized documents with the XDocs DITA CCMS

QAD, a provider of ERP and supply chain solutions, faced a challenge managing its complex and customized Business Process Workbooks. The original MS Word document had evolved into multiple versions for different industries, and customer requests for further customization led to a complex and difficult-to-manage documentation system.

The vendor, Bluestream, implemented its XDocs DITA CCMS and used its RESTful APIs to integrate with QAD's Project Scoping Calculator. This solution automated the creation of custom documents, which resulted in an 80% reduction in the time taken to produce them. Bluestream's system also improved compliance by hard-coding business rules and eliminated content duplication, allowing QAD to work on multiple projects in parallel.
