Indiana University Libraries reduces website pages by 7,000 with Bluespark

Indiana University Libraries, a leading academic research library system, faced challenges with a fragmented web presence spread across multiple difficult-to-maintain microsites. They needed a consolidated solution to streamline content, manage hours across campuses, and improve cross-promotion. They partnered with Bluespark to migrate to Drupal to improve security, content management, and administrative control.

Bluespark implemented a Drupal solution, which included a custom IU Paragraphs module for non-technical editors and a redesigned, modernized site. The project significantly improved access to information; a content reduction of 7,000 pages made it easier for users to find content and for staff to maintain the site. Bluespark's solution also reduced the number of phone calls confirming library hours by moving that information to a more prominent location. The vendor has provided ongoing support and iterative improvements since 2012, including a migration from Drupal 7 to Drupal 8.
