A Bluescape Case Study
HASSELL, a global design practice, faced the challenge of taking a visionary Mars habitat concept from idea to detailed design while competing in NASA’s 3D Printing Centennial Challenge. The work required tight, visual collaboration across geographically dispersed studios (London, Paris and others), so HASSELL adopted Bluescape’s collaboration workspace/online whiteboard to support real-time ideation, mark-ups and design development.
Bluescape gave HASSELL a visually rich, shared workspace where teams could upload images during calls, review progress in real time, and finalize designs together. The vendor’s solution improved communication and collaboration across studios, drove better time management and cost savings, eliminated the need for costly multi-screen systems that “cost hundreds of thousands of dollars,” and has since been rolled out by HASSELL across other design and construction projects.
