A Bluescape Case Study

Preview of the Substantial Case Study

Design and Development Studio Uses Bluescape for Agile Development

Substantial is a Seattle-based design and development studio that uses a lean, agile, rapid‑prototyping approach to deliver digital products for clients like Citibank and Getty. To keep complex, multi-disciplinary projects on track and to visualize workflows while reducing work‑in‑progress, Substantial adopted Bluescape’s persistent workspace and collaboration tools to support distributed, real‑time decision‑making.

Bluescape implemented a persistent, infinite workspace and real‑time collaboration features that replaced whiteboards and sticky notes, enabled remote participation across laptops, iPads and multi‑touch displays, and provided a dedicated retrospective workspace for tracking milestones. As a result, Bluescape eliminated the need to photograph and email whiteboards, improved workflow continuity and faster project execution, and gave Substantial clearer, faster decision‑making and demonstrable reductions in coordination overhead.
