KFC wanted to capitalize on growing social momentum and turn engaged email subscribers into social influencers, while also driving more people into its Colonel’s Email Club. Working with BlueHornet, KFC used email marketing and social sharing tools, including SocialLoop and a Facebook email sign-up widget, to connect its email and social campaigns.
BlueHornet helped KFC launch a two-pronged campaign that promoted the Double Down sandwich and routed Facebook sign-ups into its BlueHornet database. The results were strong: KFC achieved its highest email open rate to date at 40%, generated more than 12,000 social shares in 24 hours, drove 3 million additional impressions, increased website traffic by 29%, and boosted email opt-ins by 30%.
