Large Automotive Industry - Customer Case Study

A large automotive supplier in the Midwest needed to quickly stand up its own transportation management capabilities after being sold off from its parent company. With demand still high and a mix of LTL, truckload, expedited, international, and rail shipments moving through U.S. and Canadian warehouses, the customer needed help with pricing, TMS integration, and warehousing. BlueGrace Logistics was brought in to support the transition, including its BlueShip TMS and multi-modal freight management services.

BlueGrace Logistics used the customer’s historical shipping data to negotiate new carrier pricing that stayed within percentage points of the former parent company’s rates. BlueGrace also integrated the supplier’s in-house ERP system with BlueShip so orders could generate bills of lading directly in the ERP, eliminating a manual two-step process and saving employee time. In addition, BlueGrace arranged warehousing support to improve lane consolidation and best-value provider strategies, helping the customer scale efficiently without major labor or technology investments.
