Thrislington Cubicles Ltd, a manufacturer of premium toilet cubicles, approached Bluefrog Design to design and engineer a fully automated, touchless door system to enhance their existing Flow product range. The challenge was to create a sophisticated system that integrated electronics and mechanics seamlessly into the cubicle design, ensuring consistent performance across doors of varying weights and configurations while accounting for diverse user behaviors and accessibility needs.

Bluefrog Design developed the Flow Touchless system, a human-centered solution featuring integrated hand proximity sensors, automated locking, and discrete LED occupancy indicators. Through extensive prototyping and real-life testing, Bluefrog Design engineered a reliable gearbox and software that met an operational requirement of over 100,000 cycles. The result is an award-winning, hygienic washroom solution that is easy to install and fully configurable. Bluefrog Design secured international patents for the product, which won a Silver Best of NeoCon award in 2022.
