Case Study: LinktGO achieves seamless, highly accurate GPS tolling and trip-by-trip payments with Bluedot

A Bluedot Case Study

Preview of the LinktGO Case Study

Transurban launches LinktGO – a world-leading GPS-tolling app built using Bluedot technology platform

LinktGO, launched by Transurban, set out to give occasional toll-road users an easy, tag-free way to automatically track and pay for tolls on their smartphones while accurately detecting entry and exit on toll roads and preserving battery life, privacy and safety. To achieve this, Transurban built the LinktGO app using Bluedot’s high-accuracy, battery‑friendly location services platform.

Bluedot’s proprietary location technology (including Geoline tripwires) powers LinktGO to detect trips with far greater accuracy than standard services, enable real‑time trip cost display and trip‑by‑trip payments, record trips offline if battery or data is lost, and add in‑built safety protections. The Bluedot-enabled app was trialled with over 1,000 customers, is available on iOS and Android for all Australian toll roads, removes the need for tags or paperwork, and delivers a seamless, more accurate tolling experience.
